A big decision – what school to send my child to?

New to the area or just looking for information on schools? What school to send my child to? Public vs. Private school. What school you want to send your child to is a very big decision and personal one. There are plus and minuses on both sides. The key is what fits your particular child and family. Do you want your child to live in the area where others are going to the same school? Do you want your child to be in a school that focuses on a particular thing/program? Is cost a concern? Do test scores make a difference to you? ALL good questions. Do your research, visit schools as well. Most schools will allow “shadowing”. Shadowing is a time your child visits and is paired with another child during the day so they can see hands on what it is like. It does need to be set up so be sure and call the school in advance to arrange.

Private vs. Public school

Another indicator is ask around. Past parents and students are a wealth of information. They typically will know the “inside” information since they have been there, done that. Not every one will fit in all situations so be sure and research and get all the information you can! Below are links to many of the Bluegrass area schools. Fayette, Boyle, Jessamine, Madison & Woodford counties.
